For five years, we funded overseas volunteer placements for 18-25 year olds through VSO.

VSO is a leading international development charity that works through volunteers to create lasting change in developing countries. The scheme brought together young people from the UK and developing countries through civic participation projects in Africa and Asia.

Volunteers gained a deeper understanding of poverty and global development, picking up key skills in cross-cultural communication and leadership. The travel programme achieved much social value, having a measured impact on improvements in livelihoods, environments, health and education. Our alumni network remains involved in social action and sustainable change.
